Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signature of Ugandan International, Ivan Bukenya.

Bukenya, who has been on trial at the Club in the past few weeks has impressed in training and practice matches. Bukenya has been handed a two year deal with an option for extension should the two parties agree to that. Bukenya, a defender, recently played for Erbil SC in Iraq came through the ranks at all Junior National Teams and currently he is a member of the Ugandan National squad.

Bukenya (22), couldn’t hide his excitement at becoming a Glamour Boy; ”I received a warm welcome from the players and everyone at The Village. The Captain (Itumeleng Khune) is forever happy and has been supportive. There is a spirit of love and peace in the team and I am looking forward to a great time here.”

Football Manager, Bobby Motaung was happy to see the deal finalised; “We would like to welcome Ivan to the Team. He is a quality player and has both defensive and midfield qualities. He is professional, age is on his side as well and we are hoping for longer relations. The Coach has worked with him and is happy with what he saw.”

Kaizer Chiefs would like to wish Bukenya a glorious stay at Amakhosi.
